Assessment Day

Aiming to exceed your expectations

We do not believe in miracle solutions to client recruitment problems. At Selection One our success is based on pro-activity, common sense and hard work.  There are a number of clients where we have recruited large numbers of staff.

Our process

a)      Client profile creation. Detailed picture of your past, present and expected future.

b)      Vacancy Specification. To include all of the reasons appropriate candidates should join as well as a detailed picture of your requirements.

c)      Establish timescales and create a phase deadline for each aspect of the project.

d)      Advertise each position through online search engines and traditional media where appropriate.

e)      Search through our online database of approximately 1.3 million candidates for suitability.

f)        Name gather from prospective sites of organisations that operate within a commutable distance to your offices and might employ staff capable of filling your vacancy. We do not poach staff from existing clients.

g)      Initial approach.  Cold calling of candidates to establish initial interest and suitability

h)      Client questionnaire. (10 questions about your company that candidates will have to research from the client website / online sources and a further 5 to 6 questions about the position they are applying for, the answers to which were given to them in the ?Initial Approach?)

i)        Telephone Interview. Which will involve running through a series of first interview questions.

j)        Assessment Day. Usually held in our offices but due to the location of some clients we have in the past hired conference facilities in regional centres such as Leicester, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh. Candidates will be given a face to face interview and asked to take a psychometric test.

k)      Recruitment Day. Depending on volume our consultant can be on site to meet candidates prior to interview and discuss feedback once each interview has taken place.

Other pre-approach tasks included preparation of objection cards, which is a list of reservations candidates might have and reasons why those reservations are unfounded. We would prepare a client script providing a brief history of the client, details of the position we were hired to fill, and what prospects there are for successful candidates.
