| Yoga and exercise good for MS | |
A six month study followed 69 people with MS randomly assigned to three groups. One received weekly yoga classes with home practice, another received exercise classes and home exercise and the third were assigned no treatment. Whilst there seemed to be no significant difference between the yoga and exercise groups, both showed a significant improvement in fatigue when compared to the no treatment group. The researchers see this as evidence that engaging in some form of physical activity can help manage fatigue. Ref: Oken B, et al. Randomized trial of yoga and exercise in multiple sclerosis: improvements in fatigue but not cognitive function compared to control group.
