    The MSRC Trustees

The Trustees are an important part of MSRC, not only because of legal requirements, but in understanding the vision of MSRC.

Part of the Trustees role is to meet with the management team every three months to talk over what we are doing; they also receive regular reports from the management team, and have an active role in the continuing development and sustainability of MSRC. As a registered charity, we are under scrutiny from the Charities Commission so the Trustees are a very vital part of the organisation.

Our Trustees serve as volunteers; they receive no payment for what they do and we greatly appreciate that they take time out of their busy schedules to go to meetings and attend functions and events, and do all they can to “spread the word”.

Currently, there are currently 3 Trustees; the roles of Chair and Secretary are rotated annually.

    Fiona Sakal

Fiona Sakal was first introduced to the valuable work of the MSRC by her husband, whose brother had MS for 24 years.

Fiona has a degree in law in which she covered child and family issues as well as equity and trusts.

Carried away by the dedication and enthusiasm of Helen Yates and the rest of the team, Fiona agreed to run the Flora London Marathon for TeamMSRC in 2008, (painfully) fulfilling a lifelong ambition in the process.

In her spare time Fiona takes care of her family and Tuppence, her deaf, partially-sighted Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

    Martin Hopkins

Martin Hopkins has been a trustee since December 2007.  He lives in Colchester with his wife and three young children.

In his professional life Martin is a Partner with Birkett Long LLP and he uses his experience as a solicitor and the expertise within his firm to assist the Board with legal and regulatory matters.

Martin has had an involvement in the Charity for a number of years including running the London Marathon for MSRC on two occasions and setting up the Birkett Long Charity Cricket 6’s which have been held at The Ford County Ground on an annual basis raising money for MSRC.

    Yessica Herrera Fuentes

Yessica Herrera Fuentes graduated from a prestigious University in Mexico City in 1992 with an honours degree in Business Management.

Since then she has worked in a variety of roles in organisations across Mexico, the United States and England.

Since her arrival in the UK some 11 years ago, Yessica has worked for a number of organisations in a variety of roles, including client relationship management, bids manager and business adviser. In 2003 she gained accreditation as an Investors in People adviser and has been supporting organisations in the implementation of best practices, helping them achieve recognition of the Investor in People Standard, and identifying areas for development both for the staff and the organisation.

In January 2007 Yessica joined radius 360 and continues to work with businesses though training, coaching and consultancy.
