The George and Dragon Bookgroup This is open to anyone who loves reading and loves to talk with others about books. We will select 3 books for each session - just read one and come along and chat about it.
The next session is set for Wednesday July 28th 8.00pm at the Railway Arms in Alton.

Reading Groups for Children
We would like to start reading groups for children - Hatchlings, Dragonlets and Fire-breathers - introducing children from Reception age up to Years 5/6 to really enjoying books and talking about books with others. Let's get more out of reading!

The Little Green Dragon is an independent book & art materials shop in Alton.
The shop stocks a good range of art materials & offers discount to members of art groups & art students. We stock adult recommended reads as well as 'quirky' books and books for all the family. We have a very good children's books section & are happy to advise on just the right book. Books are chosen by us personally and reflect what our customers enjoy and recommend.
We have a great range of greetings cards, gifts and wrapping paper. We also stock toys, puzzles and games.
The team are committed to providing friendly and knowledgeable service.
Schools
We can organise author events in schools, have a speedy book ordering service as well as staff involvement in school book weeks and literacy events. Discount is available to schools (not including books from Heinemann, Ginn etc).
Alton Wordfest
We are actively involved in this event - 2010 will be our third wordfest - run over 3 days at the beginning of October. Prue Leith will be our guest at a literary lunch on Sunday 3rd October here in Alton - for tickets and more details see the Alton Wordfest website.
As a local shop we are very much part of the community and are actively involved in many events as well as acting as a booking office for local events.
